Jeri

Jericoacoara is one of the most beautiful villages located along the Brazilian seaside.  Residing in the northern region of the so-called “Cearà state”, it sits about 350km from its capital Fortaleza. It is the only village inside the National Park of Jericoacoara. It is surrounded by sand dunes, palm trees, incredible water lagoons, in addition to the breathtaking sea. Listed by the Washington Post as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world, this natural sanctuary offers to visitor’s a truly unique experience.

Sunset

Jeri is the only place among Continental Brazil where it is possible to look at the sun from dawn to dusk. The same goes for the moon. Therefore a sort of sunset ritual has been established: the wonderful dune “Duna do Pôr do Sol” became the perfect spot to enjoy this fenomenon.

What to do?

Jericoacoara is a real paradise for kite and windsurfing. This is due to a strong wind that consistently blows for 6 months a year.

Another typical local attraction is the open air cinema. It happens twice a week in addition to Zumba Samba and Capoeira courses, that can be booked and paid on-site.

POR-DO-SOL-1

Sunset ritual has been established: the wonderful dune “Duna do Pôr do Sol” became the perfect spot to enjoy this fenomenon.

For those who enjoy long walks, it allows a space for guests to be in close contact with nature by walking along the Serrate. Guests may also hike towards the lagoons and the seahorders natural reserve. Horseback riding is also available.

Jeri night life is vibrant with bars that offer delicious appetizers and live music, restaurants with national and international cuisine, souvenirs and clothing shops, open day and night. Some days of the week some of the bars and clubs, organize samba and forro` (tipical Brazilian dance) parties. This is quite fun and not to miss!
